End of two years together

Dear all,

Yesterday marked the end of two years together as a class with me as the form teacher for 3 Compassion in 2017 followed by 4 Compassion in 2018. We went through a lot the past two years. There were high moments like clinching the champion award during Sports Day 2018 and low moments like when it rained during our learning journey to the Road Safety Park. I am truly blessed to have taken this class. I couldn't have asked for a better set of students and parents. The students were a joy to teach and all of you parents have been very kind and understanding in partnering the school to bring out the best in every child.

As your child would have informed you, I am leaving the school and will not be around next year. I will be deleting the Class Dojo chat group. I wish all the pupils and your families the very best! As you part classes in P5, may you continue to strive hard and give your best for the PSLE exams in 2020.

Thank you once again everyone!

Warm regards,
Mrs Khan

NTUC FairPrice Share-A-Textbook Donation Drive 2018

Dear all,
We would like to appeal for your support for the NTUC FairPrice Share-A-Textbook Donation Drive 2018. The donation drive will run from 8 to 20 Nov. Pupils who wish to donate textbooks and story books can drop off the books at the collection point outside the School Library. Please donate only books that your child no longer needs and are in good condition. P3 to P5 pupils should not donate their Science textbooks as these books will be needed at the P6 level. As for Mathematics, it will be good to keep the P5 textbooks as well.

NTUC Fairprice is also looking for volunteers for the programme. If you are interested to take up this volunteering work, you can read up more about it and register at https://www.fairprice.com.sg/wps/portal/fp/csr/SAT/FAQ.

End of year class party

Dear all,

Some pupils from the class approached me asking to have a class party to mark the end of 2 years spent together as a class. Other pupils also wanted to contribute to the class party. So we have decided to have a class party on Thursday, 15 Nov 2018 (last day of school) during the last 2 periods of that day (12.45-1.45pm) in the classroom. Pupils are advised not to bring items that are too heavy for them to carry to school. There are a total of 36 pupils in the class but you need not bring that many number of items because not all pupils would eat/drink all the food.

We have pupils with some dietary requirements such as Halal, vegetarian, cannot eat beef, lamb, cheddar cheese, nuts, gelatine and whey powder. If you buy snacks which don't meet these dietary requirements, please let me know so I will inform those pupils with the dietary requirements to avoid the food.

I have compiled here the list of items the pupils are bringing. It is perfectly fine if you do not wish to bring anything. :) Pupils are advised to bring healthy snacks as much as possible. Packet drinks would be preferred over bottled drinks to avoid spillage and mess in the classroom. Any unconsumed items will be given out to pupils to bring home.

Thank you and hope we have a good snacks party.

Parent Teacher Meeting

Dear all,

The pupils are bringing home an instruction sheet on how to book your timeslot for the Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM) today. Please read through it and start booking from Saturday to Thursday.
If your child chooses to follow you for the meeting, he/she needs to be in the school uniform.

The main purpose of this meeting is to confirm the subject combination for your child, whether your child will be taking subjects at the Standard or Foundation level and whether you want him/her to do Higher Mother Tongue if your child is strong in his/her Mother Tongue and taking HMT will not compromise his/her performance in the other subjects.

Build on the Padlet for Fractions of a set

Hi all,

Just before the term closed, we had done a lesson on Fractions of a set. Do you remember taking photos of your multilink cubes and posting them up on Padlet with a question for your friends to answer? We didn't have enough time to complete that activity in class so let's see whether we can try building on it during the June holidays. No worries if you can't as I understand some of you may already have made your travel plans. For those who have access to technology and are able to spare some time to do this, let's see how we can advance our learning here.

Since you don't have multilink cubes at home, you can cut out some coloured boxes on paper and arrange them such that one colour forms a fraction of the set. Take a photo of it. Open up the Padlet website. Type in your name in the title. Type in your question to your classmates below it. Attach your photo and create your post on Padlet. You will see some of the previous posts of your classmates there. Answer their question by writing in the comments box below their posts. Write your name at the end of your comments.

This is the Padlet website

Have fun!
